We are looking to recruit an outstanding, experienced and motivated Therapeutic Radiographer to help shape the future of the Radiotherapy service, ensuring high quality and innovative practice is provided.
Pre-treatment imaging is provided with a Siemens Somatom Confidence CT and planning with Varian Eclipse treatment planning system. Techniques include virtual simulation and delivery of simple and complex conformal treatments. IMRT, IGRT, TBI, DIBH, ART and gynaecological brachytherapy are currently offered as routine as well as stereotactic radiosurgery and SABR.
The successful candidate will be responsible for The overall day to day operations of the Radiotherapy department, ensuring all operational KPIs are met including compliance with CWTs, Trust HR requirements (appraisal, absence management, statutory/mandatory training). The post will provide technical leadership, specifically to the implementation of innovative, specialised techniques and will play a key role in advising on the technical and workforce requirements to deliver a service of excellence, individualised to our patients.
You will work closely with the Head of Radiotherapy, Clinical Lead for Radiotherapy and Head of Radiotherapy Physics and provide technical leadership to the department, ensuring the provision of specialised, innovative radiotherapy techniques and pathways.

To support the Head of Radiotherapy in ensuring and developing the provision of a high quality, patient centred and clinically led service.
To be responsible for the overall day to day operations of the Radiotherapy Department.
To ensure the provision of a service of excellence in accordance with the aims and strategic service direction of the Trust and the wider healthcare economy.
To act as a clinical and technical expert, leading the implementation of specialised, innovative radiotherapy techniques and pathways.
To lead in the development of the service, particularly in relation to technical innovations, contributing to the Radiotherapy and Cancer Centre's strategic and operational plan.
Lead the radiotherapy audit and research programme on both a local and network level to optimise site specialist, innovative radiotherapy and build upon the current evidence base.
Deputise for the Head of Radiotherapy where required at department, Trust, regional and national levels.
Work flexible hours and shift patterns, including weekends, according to the needs of the service. Full participation in on call and bank holiday working is required. It may be necessary to work until 20:00 during periods of scheduled and unscheduled linac downtime
