The role of Mental Health Practitioner at the First Point of Contact Centre (FPCC) within Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is focused on providing urgent mental health support through triaging and managing referrals. Candidates should have a background in mental health nursing, social work, learning disabilities, or occupational therapy, and must thrive in a fast-paced environment. The position involves handling a variety of calls, offering reassurance and support to individuals in crisis, and directing them to appropriate services, either within the Trust or externally.

Practitioners will work in a 24/7 environment, including night shifts, and will play a crucial role in the Trust's care navigation system by screening and triaging referrals from various sources. The role emphasises resilience and emotional strength to effectively support patients during critical times. Continuous development is supported by senior practitioners, and there are multiple flexible shift patterns available to accommodate different working preferences.
