The Wrightington Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join the team on Ward 3 at Leigh Infirmary, a busy elective day case unit. This role, primarily Monday to Friday, may require weekend shifts in the future. The Housekeeper will be responsible for upholding high cleanliness standards, managing stock levels, providing refreshments to post-operative patients, and ensuring compliance with infection control guidelines. Duties involve cleaning, assisting with patient meals, maintaining the ward environment, and supporting the multidisciplinary team in delivering quality patient care under the supervision of registered nurses.

In addition to cleaning and kitchen responsibilities, the Housekeeper will engage in planning and organisational tasks, monitor service delivery, liaise with maintenance departments, and manage waste disposal according to policy. Effective communication with the healthcare team is essential to ensure a safe and dignified environment for patients. The role complies with various health and safety regulations, requires adherence to Trust policies, and it involves attending mandatory training to maintain the highest standards of patient care and operational compliance.
