The Medicines Management Administrator at Maryport Health Services is a key role responsible for processing all prescription orders from patients, either through the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) or paper prescriptions, for GP authorisation. This position requires strong organisational and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, and adherence to strict deadlines. The successful candidate will work closely with the Medicines Management Team and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe issuing of repeat prescriptions, handle prescription queries, and maintain accurate patient data. The role also involves assisting in the training of new staff and covering various administrative tasks as necessary.

Working thirty hours a week, primarily in the afternoons, the administrator will be expected to manage communications with pharmacies and care homes while adhering to established protocols. Responsibilities include issuing and re-authorizing prescriptions, processing medication requests from nursing homes, synchronizing repeat medications, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. The position is permanent, subject to a successful six-month probation period, with a salary of £22,819 per annum.
