The Dietitian will conduct initial assessments, develop and implement tailored dietetic treatment plans, and offer guidance that empowers patients in their nutritional choices. This includes preparing individualized feeding plans, conducting nutritional assessments of food diaries, and actively participating in the Care Programme Approach (CPA) for comprehensive care planning. The role demands flexibility to consider a wide range of eating disorder presentations and requires coordination with other professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Ellern Mede are looking for a experienced Dietitian to join our branch in Mill Hill, Ridgeway.
We offer Full-time and Part-time hours: typical hours would be 09:00 - 17:30 Monday to Friday,
Salary range per annum: £38,000 - £48,000.
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To support the delivery and development of dietetics within the team
To work closely with the Ellern Mede multi-disciplinary team
To provide specialist dietetic advice and support to children, young people & their families receiving treatment at Ellern Mede.
To offer intensive dietetic support to young people, young adults & their families within the hospital setting, while on home leave and also preparing for discharge.
To have a highly flexible approach to work with a range eating disorder presentations.
To participate in initial assessments and lead on anthropometry, diet history and activity levels etc.
To provide a family based treatment approach, supporting parents and careers along with the young people.
To formulate and implement dietetic treatment plans based on evidence and best practice approach.
Provide specialist dietetic support and psycho-education to young people presenting with a range of eating disorders, some of which may be treatment resistant.
Carry out detailed nutritional assessment of food diaries in hospital and from home with the ability to highlight and address patterns of concerns and areas for improvement to help empower patients.
Prepare individually tailored specialist feeding plans for oral supplements and nasogastric feeds.
Liaise with, and support other professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
To have knowledge and understanding of the principles of the Care Programme Approach (CPA) and to support and contribute to the CPA care planning process.
Preparation of reports and assessments.
