Band 5: £29,970 to £36,483 a year None  PERMANENT 

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Technical member or Associate member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or working towards Tech IOSH
  • Experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a large organisation such as the NHS
  • Good presentation and training skills, preferably evident by qualification.
  • Good working knowledge of computer based systems such as Office365.

The post holder must be enthusiastic, approachable, committed and have a flexible working approach and there is often a need for effective influence and negotiation skills especially when implementing change in safe working practices and providing advice to enable a safe working environment to be created.

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Health and Safety professional to join our Health and Safety Team.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about promoting good health and safety practice across a variety of clinical and non-clinical areas within the hospital.

Ideally the candidate will have experience of working in large complex Organisations and can work under their own initiative as well as part of a professional team.

Provide expert advice, support and training on all aspects of health and safety.

Support the internal audit plan looking at overall health and safety management systems as well as local initiatives, such as safer sharp regulatory compliance. etc.

Support the production and co-ordination of health and safety model risk assessments, including COSHH.

Provide qualitative and quantitative information information with supporting narrative regarding health and safety as required.

Support in the implementation of projects, identified through the annual work plan.

Develop and deliver training on Health and Safety assessment and management processes.
