The role of Specialist Podiatrist with Powys Teaching Health Board in Newtown involves providing high-quality podiatric care for patients with foot conditions, including those at risk of serious complications such as diabetes. The position requires extensive wound care management and a broad scope of podiatry practice, with responsibilities including managing a domiciliary caseload and working in various specialist clinics like nail surgery and MSK Podiatry. Candidates will supervise junior staff and engage in patient education to foster self-management and better health outcomes.

This full-time position may also accommodate part-time applicants and involves travel within Powys. The ideal candidate will actively participate in the development of the podiatry service, engage in research and clinical audits, and lead the nail surgery service. Proficiency in Welsh is desirable, but not mandatory, and the role emphasises evidence-based practice and collaborative work within multidisciplinary teams to meet the needs of the Powys population.
