As a band 3 HCA working in the Emergency Surgical Ambulatory Clinic you will be expected to work closely within the General Surgery team. Working alongside Consultants, Emergency Nurse Practitioners and Ward Clerks to run a clinic service.
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to join the Emergency Surgical Ambulatory Clinic at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, this is a new initiative within the Surgical Department and will be an exciting new role The applicant must have excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn and undertake new skills.
The Emergency Surgical Ambulatory Clinic is a new service for General Surgery. This clinic will be a run Monday to Friday 08:30-16:00. We strive to provide excellent patient care and create effective but safe patient flow throughout the hospital. As a Band 3 joining our Nursing Team you will be expected to work well within the multidisciplinary team. We work closely with our surgical team of doctors so you must have excellent communication skills.
Your main duties will be to complete patient observations, venepuncture, cannulation when required, using our point of care blood machines to ensure quick blood results, transport patients to scans, assist with procedures when required, take blood sugars and complete ECG's.
