YorMed Event Medical Services are seeking Event Medical Staff of all skill levels to join our well established team supporting events throughout Yorkshire and the North-East.

Providing event medical services is an opportunity to work in all manner of different places. The requirements of event organisers vary greatly, you could be working alone providing first responder care, or working amongst a team in a make-shift hospital looking after 80,000 festival goers.

You will be working within our well established Team across Yorkshire and the North-East supporting a variety of different events. We are especially wanting to hear from you if you have years of experience within the industry, whilst being super keen to speak with you if you're just getting started. We do have training available with opportunities to advance that are company subsidised.

The beauty of a multi-disciplinary team means that there is always someone to learn from, and for those who are new to the industry you will have the opportunity to learn from those who are more experienced.

You will form part of the event medical team, whose responsibility is to provide the best possible medical care to our clients and service users.

On-boarding is required, therefore, you must have 2 forms of ID, right to work status, an Enhanced DBS Certificate, all relevant Certificates, Professional Registration (if applicable), etc.

About us

Our event medical staff must possess and apply knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of their clinical scope of practice, in a dignified and compassionate manner, including but not limited to:

  • Must be capable of performing all duties autonomously and in the austere. It is not uncommon for event medical staff to be staged at assigned aid station locations where they are the sole medical provider.
  • Responding to emergency and non-emergency requests calmly, efficiently and promptly;
  • Administering basic life support to patients at the scene, in a pre-hospital/pre-transport setting in accordance with their clinical scope of practice,
  • Assessing the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritise medical procedures to be followed
  • Maintaining order at scenes, including crowd disbursement and restraint of family and friends; and Completing patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion.
  • Conduct pre-event medical equipment inventory.

  • Respond to requests for emergency and non-emergency medical care at events and other duties related to assisting event staff with general tasks that support the event
  • Maintaining accurate records of request for emergent and non-emergent first aid and medical care. Properly document each customer/patient interaction on the approved Patient Report Form (PRF) in accordance with YorMed policies and procedures.
  • Handling radio communications professionally and efficiently with careful regard to the divulgence of information respecting confidentiality requests at all times
  • Work cooperatively with assisting agencies. This may include, but is not limited to, the wider Event Staff, Volunteers, security teams, Ambulance Services, event participants and spectators. Be nice, professional, courteous and an all-around happy and pleasant person.
  • The employee must perform all job responsibilities in a manner that protects patient privacy
  • The employee is expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with YorMed Privacy Policies, procedures, and practices, as required by law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a healthcare provider. Failure to comply with policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
  • The employee may access protected health information and other patient information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties. The employee may only share such information with those you have a need to know specific patient information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other company operations.
  • The employee is encouraged and expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of that policy to the designated Privacy Officer.
  • The employee is expected to actively participate in Company privacy training and is required to communicate privacy policy information to co-workers, students, patients, and others in accordance with Company Policy.
