This is a cross-site Post for the Radiology Departments at Sunderland Royal Hospital and South Tyneside District Hospital. You may be expected to work at either hospital site as required.
As a Clerical Officer you will work closely within a team of administrative staff, including medical secretaries and other support staff, providing a wide range of administrative duties to support the Radiology Department. You will be involved in supporting our reception, appointments processes and general enquiries, providing excellent and timely administrative services to our patients.
You should have excellent communication skills and be educated to GCSE at grade C/4 or equivalent, in English Language and Maths, or an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent a relevant subject. Effective IT skills are essential as all work is undertaken using a variety of software packages. Previous use of a healthcare information support system would also be advantageous. Previous administrative experience with a focus on customer care is also essential.
The Radiology Department is open seven days per week, 24 hours per day. Administrative staff work across all seven days working from 08:00 to 19:30, Monday to Friday, plus weekends and bank holidays. Youwill be expected to work across these parameters of service provision as part of your normal working week.
To provide a range of administrative services to all areas of Radiology.
Provide reception services to patients and visitors in the Department.
Ensure high standards of patient documentation at all times and assist in developing a sensitive and caring environment for patients and carers within Radiology.
Participate in flexible working arrangements to meet the needs of the Service.
