Musgrove Park Hospital, located in Taunton, provides acute health services for it's population of around 340,000 people and provides specialist services for a larger population of around 544,000 people. Alternatively, these positions are also available in Yeovil District Hospital.

Our Occupational Therapists are patient centred, assessing and supporting patients to retain or regain participation in their occupations and consequent independence in their day to day life.
We provide specialist assessment, goal setting and planning intervention, working closely with our support workers, physiotherapy team and our community services across Somerset.
About usTo undertake comprehensive occupation focussed, patient centred assessment of patients, including those with diverse or complex presentations and/or multiple pathologies.
The post holder will be expected to make clinical judgements which require analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of different interventions and treatment techniques, to optimise physical and cognitive occupational performance capabilities.
Formulate and deliver an individualised, patient centred occupational therapy treatment programme using appropriate assessment, clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of treatments and interventions. For example; activity and task analysis of activities of daily living skills, patient education, manual handling techniques and alternative options such as appropriate equipment. The patients goals, and those of the multidisciplinary team, must be taken into account to aim for achievable outcomes and recommend the best course of intervention.
The post holder will continually reassess and evaluate the persons progress through assessment and intervention. Treatment programmes may need to be altered as a result of this.
To carry out clinical risk assessments for patients on own caseload and take action to effectively manage identified risks.
The post holder will participate in the Services supervision and appraisal/career conversation programme
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining their own competency to practice through Continual Professional Development (CPD) activities
