Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a full-time Band 7 Advanced Orthoptist to manage a complex orthoptic case-load, primarily at St James's University Hospital. The role involves conducting orthoptic assessments and providing treatment for both children and adults with ocular motility defects, including participation in various specialized clinics such as paediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. The successful candidate will contribute to community-based orthoptic services as well, requiring travel to multiple sites.

Candidates should possess significant post-qualification orthoptic experience, ideally in tertiary referral clinics, and demonstrate expertise in advanced testing methods such as Octopus Goldmann Visual Fields. This position includes leadership responsibilities, clinical supervision of less experienced staff, and the education and assessment of undergraduate students. The Orthoptist will be expected to engage in service development, undertake audits, and present findings at conferences, all while maintaining high standards of patient care and accurate record-keeping.
