Key responsibilities include organizing daily workloads, participating in outpatient clinics, addressing patient safety concerns, and supporting the development of clinical effectiveness initiatives. The position also emphasises the importance of safeguarding vulnerable groups and requires a successful candidate to undergo an enhanced DBS check, with costs covered by the first salary, as well as membership in the DBS update service.
The post holder will assist in the delivery of high quality care within the Stroke service within the trust. Working alongside other clinical colleagues to provide expert care and support for this patient group. The post holder will contribute to advancing the body of knowledge through education, research and audit as well as developing practice. They will play a key role within the multidisciplinary team in order to ensure a seamless, coordinated and timely approach to care.
- In conjunction with the Associate Nursing Director, Matron and Ward Manager provide effective leadership, monitoring of professional and care standards, and effective use of resources at ward/department level.
- To be responsible for ensuring the provision of compassionate, safe and high quality patient care. Working independently in clinic settings and alongside the nursing and medical teams in the ward setting.
- Actively contribute to and support agreed developments within the business group with focus for supporting clinical effectiveness and innovative practice.
- To confidently escalate in a timely manner concerns about patient safety, quality and experience, offering solutions and evidence-based recommendations.
- To contribute to a culture that recognises and works in partnership with patients and their families, involving them in all decisions
- To ensure that national and local policy and guidance are delivered and maintained.
- Foster a culture which encourages staff to challenge and report substandard practice.
- Organise and plan own day to day workload or activities in order to meet the demands of the job role.
- Contribute to the STARs accreditation programme as required.
- Participate and deliver Stroke outpatients' clinics for review or follow up when directed to by the Clinical Lead, ensuring to keep up to date with the emerging Evidence Base around Acute Stroke Care.

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary
