The South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated Nurse Consultant for Autism to lead the implementation of its all-age Autism Strategy. The role involves providing specialist clinical support across inpatient wards for individuals with autism, promoting least restrictive care, and collaborating with multi-professional teams to enhance care standards. The successful candidate will offer strategic leadership, facilitate service transformation, and ensure effective practices in line with evidence-based interventions, all while engaging with key stakeholders to improve patient experience and outcomes.

Key responsibilities include offering expert consultancy on autism care, conducting training, and supporting the transition of patients between child and adult services. The position also entails evaluating clinical practices, identifying staff training needs, and actively participating in research initiatives. Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative working across various levels of the organisation are essential for this role, which ultimately aims to enhance the lives of autistic individuals within the Trust's services.
