We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Pharmacist, with a grounding and understanding in the pharmaceutical care delivery to supporting caring for sometimes highly complex children, who is looking to take the next step in their career and develop a specialism in Paediatric Cancer and BMT. We are looking for someone who puts patients at the centre of their practice and is proactive in their learning.
Whilst experience of working in Cancer and / or Paediatrics is desirable, it is not essential as you will be provided with full training from a supportive and dynamic team of expert Paediatric Pharmacists. As a Specialist Pharmacist, you will rotate through the different areas of the team (please see JD and PS for more details), gaining experience and having the opportunity to develop the service and make improvements, particularly as we migrate to the new era of Children's Cancer Care at Great Ormond Street Hospital, with the imminent opening of the new Cancer Centre. You will see every side of Paediatric Cancer from diagnostic work up, treatment, side effect management and long term surveillance in both Inpatient and Outpatient settings. Following approximately 9 monthly rotations you will get to experience the full gamut of Paediatric Cancer services including clinical care in Haematology, Oncology and BMT (including CAR-T), in both NHS and private patient arenas. You will also gain an understanding in clinical trials for Cancer Care to children.
