The Professional Standards Senior Manager position at NHS England in Birmingham offers a dynamic role within the Midlands Nursing Directorate and the Policy and Strategy Team. The successful candidate will contribute to strategic Nursing and Midwifery initiatives, focusing on key areas such as Nursing and Midwifery Excellence, Greener Practices, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, and Quality Improvement. Acting as a regional champion, they will provide clinical and professional leadership, collaborating with various stakeholders, including regional and national NHS teams and local health systems.

In addition, this role involves defining current processes, facilitating discussions on best practices, and overseeing the implementation of agreed processes. As an integral member of the regional nursing and midwifery team, the Senior Manager will engage with both the leadership team and statutory partners to deliver effective support across the Midlands Nursing Directorate. The post holder will support the work of the Policy & Strategy Team within the Nursing Directorate with a key role in supporting to deliver strategic Nursing and Midwifery priorities, with particular focus on: N&M Excellence; Greener N&M Practice; Equality Diversity & Inclusion; Embedding continuous Quality Improvement; Research & Innovation; Leadership & Professional Development.

Thewill act as a regional champion fortheseprogrammesof work within the Policy & Strategy portfolio,working withregional, national NHSE teams,systems, providersand widerkey stakeholders across the healthand caresystem toprovideclinical and professional leadership,supportand interventions.

ThisProfessional Standards Senior Managerrole is an integral part of the regionalnursingandmidwiferyteamatNHSEngland working with theDeputy to the Regional Chief Nurse, Regional leadership team, statutorypartnersand the local healtheconomy.

The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Midlands Region/Nursing Directorate.

The post holder will act as a regional champion forthe functions within the policy & strategy teamandwill define current processes, facilitate discussions and advise colleagues as to how best practice might be adopted in the definition of future processes, document those processes as they are agreed and oversee their delivery.
