The role of Sister/Charge Nurse in the Paediatric Inpatient Ward at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust involves supporting the Senior Sister in delivering high-quality care and managing the ward in accordance with Trust policies and values. The successful candidate will provide nursing leadership, ensure effective patient care delivery, and act as a patient's advocate while working collaboratively with nursing and medical teams to care for infants and children on Dolphin ward at Royal Derby Hospital.

Applicants should possess an RSCN or RN child branch qualification, strong communication and organisational skills, and demonstrate professionalism as a role model in alignment with the NMC code of conduct. Responsibilities include assessing care needs, planning and evaluating individual patient care, leading the nursing team, and managing workload effectively. The post holder will take charge of the ward in the absence of the manager and support the clinical and professional development of staff while ensuring timely patient care.
