The Associate Director of Cloud and Infrastructure at Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) in Cardiff is a senior leadership position focused on transforming the organisation's IT services to a cloud-first model to better serve over 100,000 healthcare users. This role involves leading the Cloud and Data Centre Infrastructure teams, overseeing the transition of services from on-premises data centers to public cloud platforms like Azure and GCP over the next 2-3 years, while ensuring high availability, performance, and security standards are met. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and executing a strategic roadmap for cloud services, driving automation and self-service initiatives, managing cross-functional collaboration, and fostering supplier relationships, all while championing a culture of continuous improvement within the organisation.

Additionally, the Associate Director will manage geographically dispersed teams, support long-term workforce planning, and engage with various stakeholders, including health boards, public bodies, and academia, to ensure alignment with organisational objectives. The position requires a proactive leader with strong technical and operational skills, capable of navigating complex environments and responding effectively to challenges. A willingness to participate in an on-call management rota and proficiency in Welsh are desirable attributes for candidates.
