The Band 6 Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust in Nuneaton encompasses providing high-quality nursing care to IBD and Coeliac patients. The post holder, reporting to the Consultant, will lead nurse-led outpatient clinics, assess patients for infection risks, and administer anti-TNF therapies, ensuring compliance with nursing guidelines. Additional responsibilities include liaising with the multidisciplinary team for inpatient care, offering a telephone advice line for patients, and undertaking training in various endoscopic procedures such as Flexible Sigmoidoscopy and Gastroscopy.

Candidates must possess a strong understanding of gastrointestinal diseases, including the aetiology and pathogenesis of IBD, and demonstrate the ability to interpret relevant diagnostic findings. The role also involves auditing service effectiveness, implementing new diagnostic technologies like Capsule Endoscopy, and developing connections with self-help groups. This permanent position offers a salary ranging from £37,338 to £44,962, depending on experience, and requires 37.5 hours of work each week.
