We are excited to invite applications for the Fellowship Programme Director post who will support the overall management and quality control of the Fellowship Programme in the Trust, with specific responsibility for Foundation fellowship year 3. The postholder will work with local lead educators to ensure that each placement of the programme and the programme as a whole meets the standards for training.
They will ensure that each trainee is able to access a comprehensive range of experiences which will enables them to gain the competences necessary for their stage of training.
About us
- To work alongside Fellowship programme coordinator (FPC) to manage and quality control the fellowship programme.
- To work with lead educators, educational and clinical supervisors, and medical personnel to ensure that each placement has a current job description that meets the educational aims specific for the programme and complies with the LED charter.
- To work with local lead educators to ensure that each placement in the programme meets the educational aims specified for the placement. This should include a clear description that outlines how the competences, including the general professional competences, are covered in each placement.
- Work alongside FPC to monitor the attendance and performance of each doctor at regular intervals and initiate remedial support for any doctor in difficulty.
- To develop the portfolio evidence collection methodology
- To provide annual reports for the DMEs, MD and CEO
- Work alongside FPC to provide detailed appraisal for each individual doctor.
- Work alongside FPC to effectively recruit to the fellowship programme at all grades for bi-annual intakes, through the process of shortlisting, interviewing and appointing candidates.
- To work flexibly with the Programme director for year 1 and 2 to cross cover and share good practice.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Individuals wishing to apply must be registered with the General Medical Council (GMC).
The successful candidate will be employed under the terms and conditions of service for Consultants (England) 2003.
