The East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking dedicated and motivated Senior Healthcare Support Workers for their Care of the Elderly wards in Ipswich. These roles are crucial in supporting Registered Nurses by providing high-quality patient care while ensuring safety and a positive experience for elderly patients. Candidates must have prior care experience or a Care Certificate (or equivalent) and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working as part of a cohesive team. Responsibilities include addressing both direct and indirect patient care needs, engaging in mandatory training, and adhering to Trust policies to maintain high standards of care.

Successful applicants will be integral members of a multi-professional healthcare team, functioning within the defined scope of the Healthcare Support Worker role and collaborating closely with Registered Nurses for appropriate care delegation and supervision.

You will meet the direct and indirect care needs of patients under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

You will also meet the needs of the Trust with regards to Induction, mandatory and statutory training.

You will be expected to ensure high standards of patient care at all times, in line with Trust policies and guidelines.

You'll work as an effective member of the nursing and wider multi-professional healthcare team.

You will work within the boundaries of the role of the Healthcare Support Worker and refer to the Registered Nurse as appropriate.
