The Mechanical Supervisor role at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust in Burton on Trent entails overseeing mechanical maintenance and installation activities to ensure compliance with appropriate standards. The supervisor will manage the servicing infrastructure, which includes directing trade staff, maintenance assistants, and apprentices. Close collaboration with both technical and non-technical colleagues is essential to provide specialized mechanical insights and facilitate activity planning. The position also involves taking responsibility for statutory inspections, maintaining compliance records, and participating in an on-call rota.

This role will be is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical related maintenance and installation activities, including contract works is reviewed and completed to an appropriate standard throughout. Department responsible for the effective management and control of theservicing infrastructure, and the associated trade staff and maintenance assistants and apprentices.

The role will also require the post holder to work closely with technical and non-technical colleagues as part of providing a specialist mechanical knowledge and review process or as part of the overall planning of activities undertaken and completed by directly employed labourand contactors.

You should be able to take responsibility and ownership for statutory inspections under your delegated area and keep records ensuring the trust complies with current legislation

The role also requires participation in the out of hours on-call rota.
