King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Biomedical Scientist to join their expanding Stem Cell Laboratory team, which will relocate to a new facility in early 2025. This role is pivotal in ensuring high standards and staff competency during this transition, as well as in providing a comprehensive Bone Marrow transplant service and leading clinical trials for patients within Haematology and other departments. The successful candidate will work in a clean-room environment, processing bone marrow, stem cells, and cord blood for transplants, while also providing training and leadership to junior team members.

Candidates should possess extensive knowledge of stem cell biology and related biological sciences such as immunology and cryopreservation, along with a thorough understanding of national and international regulations governing stem cell processing. The role requires flexibility to manage unexpected procedures, participation in an extended hours rota, and a focus on patient care. Responsibilities include interpreting complex laboratory results, managing clinical materials, and initiating research and audit activities. Additionally, the Senior Biomedical Scientist will oversee the safe storage and distribution of cells for transplantation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
