Band 6: £39,205 to £47,084 a year per annum - includes high cost area supplements (HCAS)  PERMANENT 
You will join a forward thinking dietetic team which undertakes the training of A, B and C placement students, and also focuses on research and audit in its areas of activity to promote clinical effectiveness in patient care.

The post holder will be responsible for the nutrition and dietetic management of upper gastrointestinal (UGI) patients (benign and oncology) and Head & Neck (H&N) oncology patients throughout their treatment journey. The post holder will work with both the specialist UGI and H&N teams at the Royal Surrey Hospital (RSH) and Royal Surrey Cancer Centre. Both teams comprise of band 6 and 7 specialist dietitians who work closely together and provide a supportive environment for those new to the specialties.

The post holder will work as part the specialist UGI and H&N dietetic teams sharing responsibility for the smooth running of the service in line with Trust performance targets. They will provide dietetic support within an agreed caseload to individuals requiring treatment of UGI and H&N specific conditions. They will formulate and implement nutrition support for patients from diagnosis, pre and post-surgery at RSH and during any oncological treatment at SLCC. The post holder will assess, monitor and review patients in a full range of settings including inpatients, outpatients and telephone or email communication. Both teams are integral members of their respective MDTs and work closely with the surgeons, oncologists, CNSs and AHPs. The post holder will be a resource in the area of UGI/H&N dietetics for other health professionals in the RSH and surrounding healthcare units

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian has arisen to join our Upper gastrointestinal (UGI) and Head and Neck (H&N) teams. We are encouraging applications from those with some clinical experience who may be considering these areas to specialise in. The post will be split across the week; two days with the UGI team and three days with the H&N team.

You will be a part of an award winning, proactive dietetic department at The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust in Guildford. As an integral member of both MDTs, you will have the opportunity to gain experience and develop your skills in the dietetic management of both oncology and surgical UGI and H&N patients in a supportive environment with peer supervision and on the job training.

The Royal Surrey Foundation Trust is an established regional unit for both UGI and H&N surgery and oncology, with chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments delivered onsite at Royal Surrey Cancer Centre. You will be supporting patients from diagnosis throughout their treatment pathway including through oncological and surgical interventions.
