The fixed-term position of Specialist Clinical Pharmacist at Glangwili General Hospital with Hywel Dda University Health Board is set to last until November 4, 2025. The role calls for a proactive pharmacist to join an established pharmacy team, delivering pharmaceutical care across diverse medical and surgical specialties, including but not limited to coronary care, respiratory care, and pediatrics. The successful candidate will provide clinical pharmacy services to in-patients, collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team, and mentor junior pharmacists and pharmacy students.

This position emphasises continuous professional development with opportunities for training and skill enhancement while supporting the Lead Pharmacist in specialized areas. Additionally, the Health Board is focused on promoting bilingualism, inviting applications from Welsh speakers, although support for language training is available for non-Welsh applicants. An opportunity has arisen at Glangwili General Hospital for a motivated and forward thinking Pharmacist to become part of a well established team of pharmacy staff providing pharmaceutical care and expertise to a wide range of medical and surgical specialities including coronary care, acute stroke, respiratory, urology, trauma and orthopaedics, obstetric and gynaecology, critical care, paediatrics and the emergency department.

You will work in a supportive environment with training opportunities, to build on your foundation skills and develop your expertise.

You will be expected to provide pharmaceutical care to in-patients in a wide-range of different specialities on a rotational basis, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver a patient focused clinical pharmacy service.

You will be expected to support the Junior pharmacists within the team as well as Trainee Pharmacists and Undergraduate Students undertaking the MPharm course as well as supporting the Lead Pharmacist within the speciality area with their duties in order to gain opportunities to develop yourself.
