An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the Community Nursing Team as a Nursing Assistant within the rural area of Rothbury. The district nursing team work in close Partnership with GPs and Rothbury Cottage Care. The Trust is committed to provide opportunities for development for all staff to help reach their full potential and if not already obtained there is an expectation that the Care Certificate Programme will be completed. We also provide training opportunities to enhance clinical skills required to provide high and safe quality care in line with the Trusts values. The Nursing Assistant within a community setting works as a member of a wider community nursing team to delivery clinical care to patients including the performance of diagnostic tests and the delivery of personal and delegated nursing care to individuals with chronic health problems. Although the post holder receives support and supervision from registered nurses she / her is expected to work unsupervised in the patient's own home, the surgery and in residential home environments. The health care assistant will have delegated responsibility to order and rotate stock to support the team. The post holder will also undertake administrative tasks allocated by the team lead for example, assembling patient case notes, room bookings to facilitate the arrangement of team meetings and sickness absence meetings.
