We have an exciting opportunity for a Porter to join the team at HMP Lewes, a category B male prison located in Lewes.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the healthcare team on site, ensuring that patients receive the best quality care, and the healthcare team are fully supported.
Hours:
This is a part time role, working 3 days (22.5 hours) per week. Monday, Wednesday and Friday are preferred but there is flexibility around this. Shifts are 8am to 4pm.
Salary:
You receive an annual salary up to £27,583 per annum FTE (up to £16548.80 pro rata) - depending on experience.

As a Porter, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
- Provide a high standard of portering services and housekeeping, escorting visitors and contractors into and around the prison
- Deal with patients, healthcare colleagues and other professionals over the phone and face to face
- Carry out basic admin tasks, including answering calls, scanning, delivering post etc
- Deliver a tidy healthcare area, monitoring and ordering stock as necessary, paying attention to expiry dates and cost of equipment
- Some waste management
- Delivery of blood samples to local hospital which is within walking distance from the prison
