The East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a part-time Children and Young People's Mental Health Specialist for Ipswich Hospital, starting on April 1, 2025. The ideal candidate will possess post-registration experience in supporting individuals under 18 with mental health needs and will play a crucial role in the ongoing service for young people, particularly those facing complex health issues. Responsibilities include providing clinical interventions, developing care packages for at-risk youth (including those who self-harm or have eating disorders), and collaborating with multi-agency partners to meet the holistic needs of children and their families.

Additionally, the specialist will offer training and support to hospital staff to enhance their confidence and skills in delivering care, while also ensuring adherence to legal requirements concerning mental capacity and safeguarding. The role includes conducting specialist assessments, advising on care plans, providing psychosocial interventions, and participating in multi-agency reviews to facilitate coordinated care and safe discharge for young patients.
