The Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is seeking a motivated Band 4 Alcohol Practitioner to join their nationally recognized Alcohol Care Team in Birmingham. This role involves assessing patients with alcohol dependency or those at harmful drinking levels, providing psycho-social interventions, and supporting a caseload of patients pre and post detox. The practitioner will primarily work at City and Sandwell hospitals, with plans to transition to the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in the future.

In addition to managing patient care, the Alcohol Practitioner will build therapeutic relationships, offer motivational support, and facilitate referrals to relevant services. Collaboration with medical staff is crucial to enhance their understanding of addiction, and the practitioner will conduct screenings to identify individuals at risk from alcohol-related issues. As the Alcohol Care Team evolves into the Drug and Alcohol Care Team, the role will expand to include management of patients with drug-related concerns.
