The role of Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) in the Community Neurology Service (CNS) at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust involves independently managing a complex clinical caseload of adults with acquired neurological disorders, such as stroke, that lead to communication and swallowing difficulties. The therapist will work as a vital member of a multidisciplinary team, providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment while supporting the development of best practices within the service. Additional responsibilities include serving as a resource for other healthcare professionals, participating in strategic development projects, and providing teaching and training to team members and students.
