You will be instrumental in promoting health and independence by delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions, as well as providing clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation to the wider multidisciplinary team.
As an Occupational Therapist at The Woodmill, you will have the chance to develop specialist skills and receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals. Your responsibilities will include effective communication with various stakeholders, providing compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff, ensuring the delivery of occupational therapy student placements, and supporting the completion of appraisals and personal development plans. You will need an Occupational Therapy profession qualification, extensive and relevant post-qualification clinical experience with children and young people who have complex needs, and highly specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models.

The 18 bed unit creates a pathway for patients to step down through their recovery. Ivy is a 6 bed admission area and Rose is a 12 bed rehabilitation area, with the option to flex within the 12 bed area to a four bed section that can create a further step down with a separate entrance for those patients that are progressing well and are preparing for discharge to the community.
The aim of the service is to support women to improve their self-worth, build a better quality of life for themselves and to equip them with the skills needed for community living and increased independence.
