The Clinical Skills Trainer at The Rotherham Hospice will be responsible for enhancing the skills and knowledge of the clinical workforce, which includes nursing staff, associates, health care support workers, and students. The role involves delivering training sessions aligned with the hospice’s policies, assessing and evaluating clinical skills training programs, and providing practical simulated clinical skills sessions. Additionally, the trainer will support ongoing professional development by collaborating with senior staff to create tailored induction programs and ensuring compliance with infection control and data quality policies.

Key responsibilities also include observing clinical skills in practice, maintaining accurate training records, and supervising pre-registration nursing students during their placements. The Clinical Skills Trainer will promote best practices in end-of-life and palliative care, act as a role model for high-quality nursing care, and address any barriers to learning through effective communication. The role requires adherence to the NMC professional code of conduct while fulfilling duties within both educational and clinical settings.
