Band 8b: £62,215 to £72,293 a year per annum  PERMANENT 
The post holder will be expected to work as part of the IST leadership group in conjunction with other senior professionals in the team providing a Clinical Psychology Service.

The Intensive Support Team (IST) is a service designed to support individuals with a learning disability who are struggling with mental health crisis and/or behavioural distress which is placing them at risk of admission to hospital. The team is expected to meet the holistic needs of service users and carers, avoiding hospital admission where possible. There are three locality arms of the team (Spokes), who work in partnership with local service users and key agencies providing vital support in helping people remain safe in the community.

The IST also offers support to those admitted to hospital, working in conjunction with other learning disability teams, leading on formulation, training, and advising on any reasonable adjustments that the person might require during their stay.

The post holder will be expected to work as part of the IST leadership group in conjunction with other senior professionals in the team providing a Clinical Psychology Service. This includes the provision of enhanced specialist psychological assessment and therapy, working within the policies, procedures, and protocols applicable to the service.Offering advice and consultation on individuals' psychological needs, developing detailed formulations incorporating a psychological framework to colleagues and to other, non-professional carers.
