An opportunity to join one of our emergency surgical wards as a band 6 deputy ward management sister/ charge nurse has arisen, we are looking for passionate, enthusiastic, dedicated experienced nurses to join our team to support leading the department to excellence.

You will be providing patient centred care in the heart of all you do with the full support of the multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
As part of the team, you will be supporting the ward manager in the admission of the patients to the ward and delivering care pre- and post-operatively, including enhancing patients' recovery and speeding up the discharge process.
This role will give you a great opportunity to develop and learn how to manage a consolidated nursing team, supporting the ward manager in the management of rosters, sickness, training and clinical auditing.
You will be responsible for the care and development of both junior colleagues and student nurses, creating an atmosphere conductive to learning and practice development, whilst also planning, providing and maintaining effective nursing care to our patients/clients and their relatives.
To provide effective clinical and holistic individualised family centred care to the patients and families, ensuring delivery is to the highest standard. Maintaining evidenced based practice is performed at all times, being responsible for updating own knowledge and skills in line with the Trust polices, multidisciplinary team and the NMC Code. Developing leadership skills, actively participating in service development. To take charge and run the ward on a shift by shift basis, supporting the ward manager to deliver a well lead unit, act as an advocate for both staff and patients to ensure safe care to our patients.
