The Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Biomedical Scientist for its Newborn Screening Laboratory, a prominent facility within one of the largest diagnostic Biochemistry services in the NHS. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and HCPC registered professional with experience in biochemistry, responsible for conducting complex analytical procedures and validating test results that aid in clinical diagnosis for newborn screening. The laboratory screens approximately 63,000 babies per year for conditions such as Congenital Hypothyroidism and Cystic Fibrosis and boasts advanced technological equipment to enhance analysis and research.

Candidates must possess an IBMS specialist portfolio in Clinical Biochemistry or equivalent qualifications and will be part of an innovative team integrating new IT systems to improve service delivery.
