The University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist for the role of PreSpecialist B5 in Specialist Chemistry/Toxicology, primarily based at Heartlands Hospital. This position offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic and innovative environment, providing a wide range of services including specialist chromatography and mass spectrometry. The role demands expertise in performing technical, scientific, and clinical duties, ensuring effective patient care through tasks such as handling biological samples, conducting instrument maintenance, and maintaining compliance with quality assurance standards.

Candidates are required to possess a solid understanding of Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology, along with experience in specialized assays and analytical techniques. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential to meet the objectives of the service while ensuring timely and accurate reporting of results. The department currently operates shifts from 8 am to 6 pm, with potential future requirements extending to evenings and weekends due to increasing service demand.
