INFECTIOUS DISEASE NHS WEEKEND
The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Specialist Clinical Pharmacist for its OPAT (Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy) and Antimicrobials team. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team led by a consultant in microbiology and infectious disease, working alongside nurses and medical staff to ensure safe, patient-centered delivery of the OPAT service. The pharmacist will play a key role in identifying suitable patients for OPAT, advising on antimicrobial usage, monitoring patient outcomes, and participating in the Trust's antimicrobial stewardship program to combat resistance and reduce hospital-acquired infections.

Candidates should be GPhC registered pharmacists with clinical pharmacy experience and strong communication skills, ideally holding a postgraduate clinical qualification. While experience in antimicrobials is preferred, a demonstrable interest in the field is essential. The position also requires effective organisational skills and teamwork. The role may involve occasional out-of-hours and weekend duties, with the main base at the Royal Derby Hospital but with possible rotation to other UHDB sites. The application deadline is January 21, 2025, and interviews are scheduled for February 4, 2025.
