The Primary Urgent Care Centre Nurse Practitioner at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in London is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) skilled in managing minor illnesses. This role is situated within a busy hospital environment, specifically in an urgent care centre that handles approximately 30,000 patients annually alongside a larger emergency department. The successful candidate will work autonomously, conducting thorough patient assessments, diagnosing conditions, implementing treatment plans, and evaluating treatment effectiveness. The role also involves mentoring other staff and nursing students, promoting health and wellbeing, and participating in clinical research and continuous education.

Candidates must be flexible due to a shift-based system, which extends until midnight. While a non-medical prescribing qualification is desirable, it is not mandatory. The position requires the ability to work under pressure, maintain up-to-date skills and competencies, and actively contribute to local policies and procedures. Funded training opportunities will be available to support the professional development of the successful applicant.

More about the NHS
The National Health Service (NHS) is a cornerstone of healthcare in the United Kingdom, established in 1948 with the simple yet profound principle of providing healthcare to all citizens, free at the point of use. This revolutionary system aimed to ensure that access to medical services would not depend on an individual’s financial situation, a concept that has since become fundamental to British societal values.Learn more...
