The South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) is seeking a Head of Risk for a one-year secondment beginning in March 2025. This leadership role is focused on developing and maintaining a comprehensive risk management strategy that promotes a culture of safety and quality patient care across the Trust. The Head of Risk will oversee systems for managing risks at all levels, from frontline operations to the Board, and ensure effective communication and reporting of risk-related matters. Responsibilities include leading Trust-wide risk leads, providing senior leadership and accountability, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks, and fostering a patient-focused risk management culture.

Additionally, the Head of Risk will act as the primary contact for audits related to risk management, support the Trust's Risk Assurance Group, and contribute to ongoing risk assessments and improvements. The role requires collaboration with executive teams to address Directorate risks and promote effective risk sharing across organisations. It is essential to stay informed about national regulations and best practices while driving continuous improvement in risk management and patient safety within SECAmb.
