The PALS Officer role at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust involves working within the Complaints and Patient Services Team to address concerns from patients and their families in a professional, supportive, and impartial manner. The successful candidate will primarily be based on-site across various trust locations, requiring the ability to travel at short notice. Key responsibilities include providing confidential advice, resolving issues quickly at the point of contact, explaining the NHS Complaints Procedure, and liaising with health professionals to support patients in navigating their care.

Candidates should possess excellent communication and organisational skills, a proactive attitude towards service development, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Additionally, the role entails maintaining accurate case records, ensuring compliance with data protection guidelines, and promoting the PALS service to enhance patient experience. The PALS Officer will also play an integral part in training and mentoring team members while contributing to service improvements based on feedback from patients and their relatives.

More about the NHS
The National Health Service (NHS) is a cornerstone of healthcare in the United Kingdom, established in 1948 with the simple yet profound principle of providing healthcare to all citizens, free at the point of use. This revolutionary system aimed to ensure that access to medical services would not depend on an individual’s financial situation, a concept that has since become fundamental to British societal values.Learn more...
