Key Responsibilities

Patient Reception & SupportGreet and assist patients, providing directions and ensuring they access the appropriate healthcare services.

Clinical AssistanceSupport the nursing team with clinical tasks such as health screenings, vaccinations, and minor surgery procedures.

Health AdviceOffer guidance on health and lifestyle, and perform health checks for new patients and carers.

Administrative DutiesHandle tasks such as medical report preparation, managing prescriptions, and coordinating patient referrals.

Clinical Equipment & Stock ManagementEnsure clinical rooms are stocked with necessary supplies and that vaccines and medications are properly stored.

Confidentiality & Data ProtectionMaintain patient confidentiality and ensure secure handling of sensitive information according to legal and ethical guidelines.

Health & Safety ComplianceFollow health and safety policies, report risks, and adhere to infection control procedures.

Purpose of the Role
The Health Care Assistant is a vital member of the nursing team within a Primary Care setting, responsible for assisting in the assessment, planning, and delivery of nursing care.
