An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health Care Professional to work as an Emergency Care Practitioner (Band 7) across the Emergency Departments of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust
The Emergency Departments at STSFT have a well-established team of Lead ACPs, ACPs and ECPs (Spanning across Band 8b to Band 6) working across all areas of the ED. With this we are able to provide an excellent supervision and development program for staff.
The successful applicant will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing and treating patients presenting with a wide range of clinical conditions which will include medical, surgical and trauma cases. You may also be asked to provide some supervision to more junior members of the team. You will be required to provide flexible cover over a 24 hour period. The post will be rotational between the main ED and UTC on both sites.
The individual should be intent on delivering a high quality service within the ED. Emergency Care experience is essential however educational opportunities are available to develop skills and knowledge. There is an ongoing work based educational and clinical supervision program. Successful applicants will be expected to follow the RCEM curriculum and actively engage with completion of the portfolio.

Key requirements of applicants-
To be a registered HCP (NMC/HCPC),
Successful completion of an undergraduate degree
Successful completion of a university accredited clinical skills course
Experience of working as an autonomous practitioner in the acute sector.
Willingness to maintain an advanced practice portfolio.
Non-Medical prescribing is required
We recommend arranging an informal visit to the department once invited to interview.
Individuals not fulfilling requirement for the post, ie., not already non-medical prescriber , should commence on Annex 21 and undertake a period of supported competency based training.
In accordance with Annex 21 of AfC, pay is determined as a percentage of the pay.
Where periods of training last for up to 12 months 75 per cent of pay Band 7 is payable (£39,606). On completion of the Training they commence at the bottom of Band 7.Those who are already in a Band 7 role would go down to the AfC Annex 21 rate of pay (£39,606) but on completion of the training would be assimilated back to the point they were on when they started the training.
