The Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (SNEE ICB) is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Appliance Nurse to join their multidisciplinary Medicines Optimisation Team in Ipswich. In this role, you will collaborate with pharmacists, senior appliance nurses, and dietitians to ensure the safe, high-quality, and cost-effective use of medical appliances. Key responsibilities include building relationships with healthcare providers, supporting and educating them to enhance patient care, and developing strategies for optimal resource use. While prior commissioning experience is not necessary, strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient outcomes are essential. This full-time position offers a mix of remote and practice-based working without evening or weekend commitments.

The role emphasises autonomous work, where you'll identify and initiate improvement programs related to the use of appliances, such as in wound care and continence management, while collaborating with the ICB Quality Team to promote best practices. You will also assist in the development of a Cost Improvement Programme aimed at improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs. The position supports broader system integration in health and care, focusing on optimizing appliance use and ensuring that care pathways are effective and efficient. The salary is in line with NHS pay scales, and there is an opportunity for part-time work as well.
