This is a Bank Support Worker role at Walcott House, part of Elysium Healthcare's learning disability and autism division, located in Bognor Regis, West Sussex. The role involves providing care and support to people with learning disabilities and autism, using your knowledge, experience, and caring nature to make a positive difference in their lives.

As a Bank Support Worker, you will join an inclusive and supportive team that works together to provide care and support to people with learning disabilities and autism. Your responsibilities will include ward rounds, analyzing behaviors and adapting care accordingly, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. The role requires a positive attitude, compassion, resilience, and vigilance, as it can be a challenging environment at times. However, it is highly rewarding to see the people you support improve and lead more fulfilled lives.

What you will be doing

You will join an inclusive and supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with Learning Disability and Autism  conditions, using your knowledge and skills to help people along their recover pathway towards leading a valued and fulfilled life.

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene.  

It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you’ve made someone’s life better.

The shift pattern is 0 hour contract 12.5 hours day 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends.

Walcott House is part of our learning disability and autism division and provides a specialist residential service for men and women with a range of learning disabilities, including autism and sensory communication impairments. The House provides spacious accommodation and communal areas. There are nine full en-suite bedrooms, two lounges, a sensory room and a fully enclosed gardens. It is situated in Bognor Regis in West Sussex.
