Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Band 4 PA/Medical Secretary for the Breast and Endocrine Surgery Department in Liverpool. The role demands a resilient individual with prior NHS medical secretarial experience and a completion of the AMSPAR Medical Secretary course. Responsibilities include managing diaries for consultants, transcribing medical correspondence, coordinating patient admissions, and serving as a primary contact for patient queries regarding their diagnostic and treatment pathways. Strong communication and organisational skills, along with proficiency in audio typing and medical terminology, are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

The position offers a permanent, full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week across various hospital sites. The successful candidate will be part of an established team, responsible for maintaining referral pathways, managing waiting lists, and ensuring timely follow-up on clinical correspondence. Additionally, the role involves supporting consultants in non-clinical activities, such as preparing documents for meetings and maintaining effective communication among the healthcare team. The candidate should demonstrate excellent initiative and the ability to prioritize a diverse workload while mentoring and supervising other staff as required.
