The Lead Midwife for Infant Feeding at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is responsible for developing and maintaining high standards of infant feeding practices, with a goal of achieving UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative status. This role involves leading the planning, setting, and evaluation of infant feeding standards, as well as delivering innovative education for midwives and support staff. The post holder will provide expert clinical guidance, support women with complex infant feeding issues, and manage the Infant Feeding Team while promoting a culture of best practice and effective team collaboration.

Additionally, the Lead Midwife will play a crucial role in leadership and communication, ensuring multidisciplinary teamwork and conflict resolution while supporting the professional development of staff. Responsibilities also extend to compliance with health and safety, safeguarding children, and adherence to governance standards. The role requires a proactive approach to patient safety and an ability to advocate for both patients and staff within a changing healthcare environment.
