The role of "Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist Upper GI" at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated nurse to join the Upper GI Cancer CNS team on a fixed term basis. The position, available at either band 6 or 7 depending on experience, involves providing specialist nursing support for patients with Upper GI tumors, both inpatient and outpatient, and working closely with a multi-disciplinary team. The candidate will gain expertise in HPB cancer management, support service improvements, and play a key role in clinical care, education, and research. We are seeking an enthusiastic, forward thinking and motivated nurse to join this busy, tri-site service during this fixed term post. This role can be offered at either band 6 or 7 dependent on experience. Imperial College NHS Trust is a tertiary referral centre for OG and HPB malignancies for North West London. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join the Team for a year and to gain expert experience and enhanced knowledge of HPB cancer management in secondary care and develop key advanced CNS skills in an environment supported by an experienced nursing and multiprofessional team.

- To provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients in Upper GI tumours and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers, both inpatients and outpatients, without supervision in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team in line with local and national targets.
- The post holder will provide specialist nursing care within the surgical and oncology setting and support and deputise for their line manager in the management of their clinical speciality. This will involve dealing with complex situations and having to take appropriate action in a variety of settings.
- To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and to provide cover for any area specified acting as professional role model providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research.
- To develop the clinical nurse specialist role in accordance with local and national policy and ensure the needs of patients and their families are central to service improvement initiatives.
