- Using hospital databases, such as TRAK, CRIS, Medical Notes, Infoflex, EPR check appointment dates and outcomes for patients.
- Ensure the cancer database is updated in a timely and accurate manner to enable the clinical teams to meet the cancer targets.
- Working with MDT co-ordinators to ensure that all patients are proactively tracked from referral to treatment.
- Liaise with administrative and medical staff in various departments to ensure appointments are booked swiftly for patients in line with government targets.
- Ensure effective communication with nursing staff, medical teams and other co-ordinators in order to co-ordinate the effective and timely treatment of patients.
- Pro-actively escalate issues and delays in the patients pathway.
- Develop a basic understanding of the medical terminology and treatments for cancer in order to fully understand the patients pathway.
- Maintain close communication with the MDT co-ordinator updating him/her on a regular basis on work progress and alerting him/her of any problems that may result in a delay in the patients treatment.
- Input data into Infoflex to ensure timely uploads in line with target dates.
- Provide administrative support including collecting medical notes in preparation for MDT
- Help assist and support all MDT specialties should it be required, particularly in periods of absence.
Audit
- Work with clinical teams to assist the MDT in collecting/recording data items for National Cancer Clinical datasets as required

- The post holder must at all times respect patient confidentiality and in line with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Attend MDT Co-ordinator team meetings.
- Attend mandatory training courses as identified through supervision and individual performance review.
- Participate in individual performance review in regular supervision sessions as agreed.
- Assist with covering the MDT co-ordinators duties for annual leave/ sickness

These are exciting roles focusing on expediting patients through the pathway from their first appointment to treatment. Duties will include liaising with Central booking office and specialties to accurately record progress.
Applicants must have excellent communication, good working knowledge of MS software, data collection skills and be flexible in their approach.
The post holder will be responsible for tracking cancer patients in line with national cancer targets and will facilitate data collection for suspected/ diagnosed cancer patients, entering the information onto appropriate database(s). The post includes providing administration support for the MDT Co-ordinators and data collection for the National Cancer Audits. This post is essential to providing high quality information and ensuring patient's progress effectively on the cancer pathway.
