The South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Administration Assistant to join the Nephrology Department in Sunderland. This role involves supporting the clinical and secretarial teams to deliver exceptional service to patients from their initial contact. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent audio typing skills, which are essential for the position, and hold an RSA 2 qualification or equivalent experience. Key responsibilities include managing telephone and email queries, registering patient attendance, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Candidates should possess strong organisational abilities, effective communication skills, and previous administrative experience in a busy office environment. The role is full-time, requiring 37.5 hours per week, primarily based in Sunderland but with the flexibility to cover additional areas in South Tyneside as needed. An audio typing test will be part of the selection process, and applicants must provide evidence of Level 2 numeracy and literacy skills in their applications.
