The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Obstetrician with an interest in Fetomaternal Medicine for a new substantive position at a busy District General Hospital in Telford. The successful candidate will join a team of 27 consultants and will focus on obstetric duties, including fetal medicine scanning, antenatal clinics, and resident shifts with no non-resident on-calls. The role involves delivering acute services primarily at the Princess Royal site and participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota. Additionally, the consultant will be encouraged to develop enhanced clinical skills, contribute to quality targets, and work collaboratively within a multi-professional team.

The job plan will be tailored to the candidate's strengths and interests and will cover approximately 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week, including direct clinical care and supporting professional activities such as CPD and teaching. There are opportunities for further SPA roles in areas like governance and training. A formal job plan will be agreed upon within the first three months of employment, ensuring clarity on the consultant's responsibilities and objectives aligned with departmental and trust strategic priorities.
